This mirror is a minimalistic free standing two-legged mirror with a good height to fit all needs. Each leg takes the shape of a rhombus which accentuates the detail in the design and serves as a very durable yet light frame for the actual mirror. The larger solid piece of wood at the mirrors base adds a unique sense of individual craftsmanship.
“The frame of a mirror is often slim, but we gave this mirror a wide piece of wood at the bottom to add weight and substance to it. The proportions of the mirror are designed for it to seem tall and slim” – Herman Studio
Form & Refines furniture designs come from a deep love of wood – their most favorite material. It is organic; it simply sprouts from the soil and supplies us with clean air during its growth. When harvested and manufactured responsibly, wooden furniture is low in CO₂ emission. It is a material that takes skill to master and is ever-changing. It is warm to the touch and has life and temperament. It expands or shrinks depending on its surroundings. And it only grows more beautiful as time passes.
At Form & Refine, they greatly appreciate the materials that they work with. This means they embrace and applaud the natural and varied expressions of wood. Thus, each piece of furniture has its own distinctive traits, depending on the grains, knots and coloration of the wood. Not only does this mindset support their vision of sustainability, it also honours the idiosyncrasies of natural materials.
